the offering

Ash does not come back.

The pot exists and waits. When $CHRON is launched, it will begin: one offering every 10 minutes, 144 a day, and each one spends everything the pot holds at that moment. Nothing is kept back, there is no daily limit, and it has no other purpose and no way to be given one.

The rite

The pot is fed
Every trade of $CHRON pays a fee. The Splitter sends part of it to the pot, a contract with no owner and no withdraw function. Its ETH can only ever become burned $CHRON.
The hour comes
Every 10 minutes, 144 times a day, the pot may burn again, and a burn takes everything it holds. There is no daily budget and nothing is saved for later: what the fees bring in between one burn and the next is ash ten minutes later.
The offering is made
When the ten minutes are up, anyone may call burn(). The bot does it on time; if the bot is gone, a holder can. The pot buys $CHRON on the curve, or from the pool once graduated, and the only thing that ever holds it back is the market: at most 1% of the market's depth in one stroke, and whatever that leaves goes in the next burn. The cap is not a budget and nothing is forfeited by it. It rises as the coin grows, because it is a share of the depth rather than a fixed number: a burn that spent a thin market in one stroke would pay a worse price and destroy fewer tokens. What it comes to right now is shown above as what one burn can take.
The ash is recorded
What it buys goes to 0x0000…dEaD, an address no one holds the key to. Each burn becomes a line in the chronicle, with its transaction, and stays there.
