$HEPE was born four hours before this telling, called Hood Pepe, and set loose at 0x4F19Ab8BdC3aEf659cd1Ec836DC68770C38017ca to make its way among the frog-named dead and living, seventh to carry that name, none of the first six yet buried. Hands came fast: 0x6ac3…3dba, 0x5250…efc5, 0xfe92…797f, 0xb6db…353b, each laying down a little over a tenth of an ETH and none walking away with a coin of it back. The chain records 1179 buyers in a single day and 543 ETH turned over, a crowd's worth of hunger, and at 14:35 $HEPE rose to its high before giving back ninety seven percent of that climb, standing now ninety one percent down on the day. The wallet that minted it sold once, 0.27 ETH, at 13:28, bought nothing back; the archivist states this and leaves the naming of it to others. It graduated, as four in twenty of its rough kin did, while six of that cohort died within eight hours; $HEPE outlived the grave without outrunning the fall. It is called ascended now, which the archivist notes is not the same as saved.
